I had trouble with my garage door for 3 days and spent countless hours trying to research and fix it on my own. I finally threw in the towel and called Overhead Door Company of the Northland. Within 3 hours the technician, Al, showed up and after a quick inspection, fixed my door while explaining what he was doing. Last winter a heavy duty ice chopper, my fault where I put it away next to the door by a cable, caused the door rails to bend and the door to go way off track. Well, Al wasn't sure it could be repaired, and to replace it would be well over $1,000.00. Instead, Al's experience and knowledge got it repaired and for under $375, so when he showed up today I have to admit I was a bit relieved. To start with, it all looked too easy watching Al replace two high tension springs in no time at all. This service tech has his work ethics together, and today's repair invoice was $125.00 less than using a coupon with other companies. Thanks Overhead Door of the Northland for great service. I would highly recommend this company and, of course, Al.

I noticed a frayed cable while doing door hinge lubrication PM work. I called and spoke with the service department, requested cable replacements, and scheduled a next-day appointment. Al, the service tech, pre-announced his visit and arrived as planned within the promised service time window. A short time later, both door cables were replaced, the main spring adjusted, and an operational check was done. Cost of work performed was as estimated. Al, the service tech, was courteous, answered questions about the work being done, and was proficient and practiced at the tasks performed. Overall, a good job and I would recommend them.

Our cable busted on Sunday, they were closed so I left a message. They called me back early the next day, booked the following. Al was our technician for repair. Once here he went right to work. I asked some questions about the other door while he was replacing the one side and he fixed and replaced the rusty cables on that one too, replaced a track that was rusted through AND adjusted the gap at the top so it was more flush. Thought I’d be making another call for them to come back but I didn’t and all the issues that I asked about were fixed. Nice guy and knew what he was doing. Happy customer, thank you!

I inadvertently placed a shovel up against the garage door rail late on Thanksgiving weekend, and when I tried to close it, the garage door jammed up against the shovel and one of the cables came loose. When I tried to put the loose cable back on the roller, the cable on the opposite side of the door also came off. I called and left a message at Overhead Door and asked them to send Al out to fix our garage door at their earliest convenience. Al has done work for us in the past, and he always does a great job. I was told Al would arrive between noon and 4 on Tuesday after the long weekend, and Al arrived right at noon, even though it was snowing. Al fixed both of the cables for me, and he also replaced a piece of damaged garage door trim. Al did an excellent job and charged me a fair price, which I appreciated. Five Stars again for Al and Overhead Garage Door of the Northland. Additionally, on January 20th, 2022, our garage door would not open, and I was mystified because I could hear the garage door opener motor trying to lift the garage door, but nothing was happening. We called the Overhead Door company, and we asked them to send Al to our home to see what needed to be done. Al determined that melting snow had dripped inside the garage and had frozen the door to the garage's inside wall. Less than 4 hours after we called to request service, Al had our door fixed and working just fine again. Al has provided garage door repair services for us in the past, and he always does a great job. Thank you for the two instances of great service!!!

I called Overhead Door Company of the Northland, and they were able to schedule me for service quickly. When a spring breaks, you need it fixed pronto, and Overhead Door was able to get out to my house in a timely fashion. When he got here, the tech did not even turn his truck off—was in and out in less than half an hour. I watched as he replaced not only springs, but cables and other parts that were worn (he showed me the evidence of that). Then he adjusted the opener settings and was gone. Efficient, thorough, courteous, and worth every penny I paid. And the folks on the phone at the front end were helpful as well. If you need garage door work, these are the people to call.

We had a problem adding our new car to the overhead at our home, so we needed to use the keypad on the exterior of the garage. I drove to the Overhead Door of the Northland office in Eagan and explained our problem. The staff was helpful and informed me that our overhead door opener was probably at code capacity and that we needed to erase all the codes and reenter them. They told me to call back if I continued to have problems, which I did. On this visit, the staff helped me make an appointment for Al to come out and assist me. A couple of days later, when Al arrived, he quickly researched my problem and determined that my new car probably already had opener codes installed from the factory or dealership. So he showed me how to erase the opener codes in my new car's system, and then he quickly had all of my garage door remotes and keypad operating. Thanks Al and the office staff for assisting me with a frustrating problem. Job well done!

After coming home from an appointment about 10:30 a.m., I noticed the garage door wasn't closing properly. I immediately called Overhead Door Company, who had serviced our door 10 years ago. The first contact was immediate and not menu-driven—an actual human being. We were not put on hold; she got our information and told us that someone would be out by noon and Al (the serviceman) would call before he arrived. Al was at our home by 12:30 p.m. the same day. One cable was rusted and snapped. He replaced both cables and the door is working like new. Al was done by 12:40 p.m. Thank you Al for your speedy and efficient work. We had a broken coupling on our door, so the motor couldn’t spin the shaft to open the door. The LiftMaster Sidewinder opener was very close-fitted to the ceiling, leaving very little room to remove the cover. Our tech, Al, first found a way to remove the cover and then found that one of the screws holding the coupling tight had broken. He was able to drill that out and inserted a bolt which he could tighten sufficiently. Now all works perfectly! Al also quickly adjusted some remotes. We called in the morning, and Al came out a couple of hours later, which allowed us to use that 4-wheel drive vehicle over the Thanksgiving weekend with the impending snowstorm. Great service, creative and determined problem solving. Highly recommend!

I spoke with someone in service in about five seconds, was arranging for a service call THE NEXT DAY, and by chance, they were able to send someone that same afternoon. The serviceperson, Chad, called and let me know he was on the way, showed up when he said he would, and finished the work in about half an hour. I don't know about you, but I can't remember the last time any work/service at my house went that smoothly. Highly recommended!

He said he had not seen a unit like ours in fifteen years, but a few short adjustments and he had it working perfectly.
